IT PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Through to acceptance. Not through to the next status report.
Advertised as: IT Project Manager · Senior Project Manager IT · Subproject Lead Infrastructure
I take on IT projects where several worlds are running at once: technology, construction, business functions, suppliers, deadlines. I led three new warehouse builds in the Netherlands and Belgium from the planning phase through to final acceptance – while operations at 14 existing sites had to keep running.
Types of project
Infrastructure and new builds
IT planning for new builds and site expansions: server room, structured cabling, network core, WLAN survey, WAN connectivity, trade coordination through to final acceptance.
CRM, ERP and system migration
selection, implementation, replacement. Data modelling, migration, interfaces, process adaptation, go-live management.
Rollout and standardisation
hardware and system rollouts across sites and borders, product certification, alignment to group standard.
Project recovery
projects that are stuck. Assessment, honest evaluation, prioritised plan, restart.

First BSI C5 attestation as a programme
A compliance project with an external auditor is a project with a particularly unforgiving end date. Complete criteria catalogue agreed with a Big Four audit firm, mapped against ISO 2700x, translated into technical requirements.

How I work
I coordinate without doing the work myself — but I know what is being discussed.
As a trained industrial electronics technician with twenty years of network and infrastructure practice, I can check what the electrician tells me rather than simply minuting it. That is the difference between steering and administering.
I trust what works, not what sounds convincing.
For me a concept is only finished once it has proven itself under real conditions – a test run, a pilot site, a week in parallel operation. Whatever does not hold up gets cut from the plan, even if it was the better idea on paper.
Hands-on where watching would be slower.
If a migration is not running cleanly, I look at the error log myself rather than waiting for the service provider's next status report. Recognising when that gets to clarity faster than a third round of meetings is itself part of the judgement.
I sort by critical path, not by the order in which issues are reported.
In a project with a hundred open items, rarely more than five are genuinely in the way. Finding those is the actual work.
I say early when something will not hold.
A deadline that is already wrong in June does not improve by being left unmentioned until September. Unwelcome news comes from me while it still leaves room to act.
I hand over documented.
System status, decisions with their reasoning, open items with an assessment. Your operation should be able to carry on when I am gone.

Describe the project to me. In a first conversation I will tell you whether I am the right person – and if not, why.
